"Together Talks" feature # 20: Good Feels presented by KLS, freight company
Some Background on Good Feels
This edition of "Together Talks" campaign, KLS was joined by Jason Reposa, Founder/Owner, of Good Feels. They make cannabis-infused beverages for those who want more out of life. Their line up of products can replace alcohol in every setting. This experience starts with their 12oz stubby bottles of cannabis-infused seltzers. They also have fast-acting beverage enhancers for the at home mixologist. Both are zero sugar and have zero calories.
How it started
Jason suffered from a locked jaw, ultimately due to stress, for much of his adulthood. Traditional medicines were not providing relief or a solution. He turned to cannabis. It treated his stress. And with that his locked jaw. The root of the problem was discovered and thus he was back to feeling comfortable and normal. Jason understood of the importance of cannabis use for himself. He also had kids at home who are in school and didn't want to be the parent who was using, lighting up, or vaping.
This led him to a question...How can I derive a product that is subtle, socially acceptable, and takes the edge off?
He started with mixing products first. His goal was to develop something that worked not only well, but very quickly. He emphasized the importance of microdosing. "Our goal is not to get anyone SUPER high or even high, but instead just maintain a nice steady pace instead of the ups and downs." He told us most edibles you only consume 20-25% of the THC, but in their products, it is between 80-85%. That is how their beverage enhancers were developed. A drop into a beverage and immediate effects are felt.
"Everyone has heard of the edibles or gummy stories...Take one and nothing happens, so take another and then suddenly you're in a panic state. We knew that is not the type of relief, comfort, and lifestyle we wanted to provide. Instead, our products are designed to give you a controllable outcome every time. We are aiming to remove the scaries and unknown from using cannabis products. Good Feels is safe, trusted, and reliable."
Current position
The company began almost 3 years ago with Jason, but the formal launch was just over a year ago. Good Feels is currently in Massachusetts only, sold through dispensaries. They are in approximately 100 stores as of this writing. However Jason said he has 4-6 states nearby interested in selling their products. "The demand is high, we just want to make sure we grow and scale at an appropriate pace. We run a lean team of 9 employees."
The company has excelled in recent years. In 2022, they were named the best seltzer by Weedmaps.
They also recently took home another award for innovation thanks to their beverage enhancer mixers.
We asked Jason what separates his company, "We are an anomaly because we make tech-innovated products. We have ready-to-drink seltzers and the beverage enhancers. All of our products are 0 calories, 0 sugar, and made with either essential oils or natural flavors derived from the fruit you see on the bottle. We live for Health and Wellness."
Good Feels is all-encompassing. Their products are designed to help people. Their company hires to help people. All new hires start with benefits and $20/hr, remarkable for any company let alone a start-up! But as Jason told us, "We are just a tight-knit group who care about cannabis and are passionate about creating positive change in the space. Happy people make better beverages." He also told us they try to do right by the community. They use all renewable energy, carbon neutral, passion, and care put into the process and products, and they own the manufacturing of their products as well which gives them total control.
They were featured in articles for Worcester Magazine and Cannabis Business Times as well!
Future growth
As you can see the company is already off to a great start. But they have higher goals. Jason told us by the end of 2023 he is hoping to be in another 4-5 states and upwards of 300-400 stores.
And the end of the following year, 2024, to hit their take off and become a national presence doubling their stores and hopefully being in over 1,000! "We've had people from Texas, California, Colorado reach out, but we aren't there yet. We have to be smart and strategic to build our infrastructure the right way so when we are ready we can really scale this thing."
The company is also looking to test a few of the flavors with direct-to-consumer options in the upcoming year. Jason said it is an untapped market potential and avoids a ton of the red tape hurdles they have to comb through given the cannabis element.
We ended our chat with Jason asking him his favorite aspects of the company. "I love R&D, getting to get in the lab so to speak and create new products, flavors to bring to our consumers is so much fun. As a team we are always thinking of ways to improve our products and expand on them." He also told us that they are "a cast of misfits", but he said it with the biggest smile on his face! Jason also told us that the emails, reviews, and stories they receive from customers is the greatest feeling. The level of satisfaction that evokes is hard to put into words he mentioned.
Good Feels is young, but they are on their way. Don't miss the boat on following them. Here is where they are accessible!
In Closing
KLS is grateful to have spoken with Jason and learned all about this feeling good company. We are ecstatic to feature Good Feels for this edition of "Together Talks".
