Some Background on Naked Granola
Naked Granola was founded by Hitham Hiyajneh. The snack focuses on being high fiber, no trans fats, non-GMO, and real ingredients. There is a commitment to not being primarily oats as well. The company is run by two people currently. The product is primarily sold in the east and midwest. The company has been in business for 7 years.
The Product
Hitham is adamant that other companies sell an expensive bag of oats. But Naked Granola makes it its mission to make sure it is well balanced with all the other enjoyable components. Their bags of Naked Granola are less than 30% oats. Thus it leads to more quality and diversity of ingredients. The company sells primarily online. Almost 40% is direct to customers. They also are partnered with three distributors: KEHE, Lipare Food, and Rizzutos. The name "Naked" comes from the commitment to no trans fats, non-GMO, and using only real ingredients.
The company uses Google ads, and social media, and attends multiple trade shows to continue to grow and expand the brand. When asked about the strength of the company, Hitham without hesitation stated, "The product. We have customers who buy from us religiously every 6 months without fail. They love our product." The product is currently in over 3,000 stores!
The Future
Hitham mentioned that the goal is to continue to grow the brand. In addition to Naked Granola, he owns and operated 24 restaurants across the country. However, Naked Granola is a passion project for him. He loves the product they have created and he wants to keep finding new avenues to reach more customers.
He mentioned some of the challenges are finding the right people to help the company grow internally and partnering with the right brokers to reach the right distributors. He hopes to continue to reach new markets and expand their reach in years to come.
When asked Hitham what his favorite part about Naked Granola is, he stated the customer testimonials. "Seeing comments online or talking to people in person and just seeing the satisfaction is really a great feeling, it makes it all worth it." The appreciation the company receives brings him extreme gratitude. Being able to provide an experience for customers drives him to continue to provide this product.
We were curious as the owner if he had a favorite moment, he touched on two. "When we walk around at shows and people come up and tell us they buy our product and how much they enjoy it. And the first sale we made. Lots of long and hard work, but we knew it would be worth it for our customers."
When we wanted to know what Naked Granola's pitch was, Hitham kept it simple, "We provide a simple, affordable, content-rich, accessible product that is filled with quality."
